ISO 9001:2000 Quality Policy

DIRC's quality management system (QMS) is ISO 9001:2000 registered. This accreditation recognizes DIRC's QMS as meeting internationally established benchmarks. DIRC services that are covered by ISO registration include the provision of drug information, medical writing, continuing education, professional services and related research.

Quality Policy

It is the policy of the Drug Information and Research Centre (DIRC) to consistently provide products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of our customers.

This policy is supported by the following quality goals and objectives:

  To provide unbiased, evidence-based verbal and written information, as well as educational programs and services, that support effective and appropriate medication and disease management;
  To meet all negotiated timelines;
  To create an environment that facilitates professional growth and autonomy, while fostering teamwork; and
  To promote continual improvement and innovation in all our operations. Our quality goals and objectives are known to, and supported by, all DIRC staff. Measures used to achieve these goals and objectives include a rigorous training program, support for continuing education, client audit and feedback initiatives, and industry monitoring and benchmarking.

DIRC takes guidance from the strategic plan of the Ontario Pharmacists' Association (OPA) and the Vision Statement and Objectives of the Association. We support the key role of pharmacists in the health care system.

DIRC's quality policy forms the basis of the DIRC quality management system, which is in compliance with the requirements for ISO 9001:2000. It is endorsed by the Executive Management Team of the Ontario Pharmacists' Association.

DIRC's ISO 9001:2000 registration is independently verified and audited by BSI Management Systems.
